Sorry for the slow blog updates we’ve been having way too much fun
On Tuesday, feeling fresh and healthy again we took the free shuttle bus to Universal Studio’s Islands of Adventure.
We found out later that it was election day for the state senator or something or other. This meant that children had the day off. It was busy in the park but even so we hardly had to queue anywhere! Amazing! If anyone was coming to Florida, we would definitely recommend them coming at this time of year.
We headed straight for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter since we knew this would be the busiest area throughout the day.

This new area of the park was amazing and any Potter fan would LOVE it! It’s made up of accurate reconstructions of Hogsmead and Hogswart. The detail is incredible! Moaning Murtle in the men’s toilets, cleaners sweeping the paths with wizzard’s broomsticks, the list goes on.

There are only a few rides within the area but they are extremely good. The main one takes place within Hogwart and is a simulator which let’s you fly with Harry and even play a bit of quiditch. Its very well done!
One of the best parts is queuing since you go through Hogwarts and get to see things like the paintings which come to life, its so realistic! At one point you see Hermione and she performs a spell which makes it snow…ahhhhh. Heidi liked that part.
The smaller Flight of the Hippogrif rollercoaster is good but doesn’t compare to the main double coaster Dragon Challenge. You choose which team you want to ride on and two carts ride at the same time. At some points the rollercoasters seem like they’re going to collide only to miss each other at the last second.
We went on this one three or four times in a row.

Other nice touches included going into Ollivander’s wand shop and drinking Butter Beer and I can confirm….it tastes gooooood!! A mix of cookies, shortbread and lemonade, weird but delicious.

Round the rest of the park we got very wet on both the Jurassic park and Ripsaw water rides. Plus it started to rain for a little bit as we are quite close to tropical storm Tomas in Haiti. Luckily it was only a little towards the end of the day.

In the evening we caught the bus to Premium Outlets, our nearest shopping Mall. We were looking for specific things and couldn’t buy too much due to our baggage allowance limits. Shame as there were so many bargains to be had!
In the end we bought some warm weather clothing for our time in Patagonia in a couple of weeks! It was very cheap particularly since that night there was an extra 40% off everything in store…Barry Argain!!
P.S – Those with a sharp eye will see we are wearing different clothes in our pics, that’s because they were taken on different days!
That last picture is too scary
I hope you managed to get away!
Did you actually get sweets from honeydukes?? That is sooooo cool! Shame its not in England reallys. Smelliness.
